Mission

Prepare engineering staff qualified in accordance with the local, regional and international Academic standards. Prepare graduate engineers to practice efficiently the changing needs of the community through quality education and scientific research to cause economic, social and scientific development. Partnership with industrial enterprises and government agencies to serve and develop community and environment in the context of societal values. Provide distinct engineering consultancy services and continuously raise the graduates’ capabilities.


Department of Structural Engineering

Structural Engineering, Department, established in 1991, is one of the esteemed departments of the faculty of Engineering at Tanta University. The department has about 80 academic staff members. Almost 2000 students are enrolled in the under graduate program and about 300 - in six disciplines - postgraduate students.

The department has three main accredited laboratory according to ISO17025. The laboratories are:

• Reinforced concrete and heavy structures laboratory
• Soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering laboratory
• Construction materials testing laboratory
